We make what you love.”

No matter what you have in mind, Kim, who is a qualified goldsmith and diamond grader, will use her passion and creativity to make it a reality. As Kim is involved in the entire process, nothing is lost in translation and you will get the piece you envisioned.

Kim’s love of Jewellery manufacture and design stemmed from a naturally creative flair on which she has expanded throughout her years of manufacturing and designing hand crafted, quality jewellery. Kim has been designing and creating world class Jewellery since her apprenticeship training as a Goldsmith began in 1990 in East London.

Gold Impressions, Kim’s first entrepreneurial step, was taken in July 1994 in Cape Town, as a jewellery design studio at home where she designed and created many bespoke pieces, offering a unique home-visit service. In December 1996 She relocated her home studio to Durban. In 2004 Gold Impressions’ first store opened at Christians Village in Old Main Road, Hillcrest. A few years later the jewellery design store moved across the road into the new shopping center, Hillcrest Corner.

In July 2010, Kim purchased Studio 39 Jewellery Design, managing, consulting and designing for both stores’ workshops. Finding that the 7 day a week trading in a retail shopping mall was difficult to maintain, the Gold Impressions store was closed in April 2015 to allow Kim to focus her attention on Studio 39 Jewellery Design.

Kim’s attention to detail, love of design and desire to create exquisite jewellery best suited to her clients’ needs, has led her to create countless unique works of art, delighting clients around the world.

If you have an heirloom that’s been sitting in the safe, Kim and her team can transform it into something unique and wearable, whether that means remoulding the metal and gemstones to create a new piece or simply refreshing the original setting. “I understand the sentimental value of jewellery and exactly how it is made. Watching the customers delight when they see their new piece for the first time makes it all the more worthwhile.” she says.

As members of the Jewellery Council of South Africa you are assured of the best quality service at all times.
